These works are products of a beautiful experience I had in a nursing home in Florence, where I would go to do portraits and make workshops. Some of the elders had the most extraordinary, and sometimes terrible life stories. Others couldn't even speak but tried to communicate through body language and facial expressions. I would take them to a chapel inside the home where we could be alone. Drawing them became a very intimate and emotional experience.
