About Me
Hi, I am a Danish visual artist who has lived and worked in Florence, Italy, for two decades. My work emerges from a dialogue between my Scandinavian background and a prolonged confrontation with Italian culture, Catholic morality, and patriarchal social structures.
Through figurative painting, drawing, and works on paper, I explore desire, social prejudice, female agency, and the struggle for freedom within restrictive moral frameworks. Her images often inhabit an uneasy territory where beauty and discomfort coexist, confronting hypocrisy, gender hierarchy, and sexual taboo.
Many of my works bear witness to the contradictions imposed on women—still caught between the ideals of the Madonna and the whore—while examining broader questions of power, exclusion, autonomy, and the consequences of social judgment.
